What changed

The load-bearing interior

Welded hollow steel posts and crossbars sit behind the 1.5 mm aluminum skins. Depth ties follow the same maximum-550 mm station rule on every size. Rails are now 2 mm steel, with real square holes and independently adjustable front/rear positions.

The serviceable exterior

The rounded satin crown, polished perimeter, side symbols and disc feet remain. The lower roll is now fixed. Side skins lift 12 mm before withdrawing; their relieved hems sit above the foot mechanisms. Concealed-latch envelopes are separate from the decorative release caps.

A complete supplier hardware fit, service latch sequence and bonding disconnect still need to be resolved before a handling prototype.

Same sections, sheet gauge, interfaces and appearance; cut lengths and support quantities vary. The 48U still needs its own deflection, handling and stability verification. Wall and glass variants need separate requirements. M1 mobility now has a separate 500 kg equipment rolling target; none of these configurations is load-qualified.

Development CAD

26 named closed solids, 288 true square rail holes, millimeter units. Solid validity and STEP round-trip checks passed. This is a scoped BREP assembly—not a mesh exported and renamed as CAD.

STEP excludes feet and their bridges, trim, doors, purchased hardware, rail brackets, bonding and ventilation. Tube corner radii and fold roots are idealized. Do not fabricate or load this partial assembly.

Costed prototype bill of materials

One 24U / 1000 mm freestanding mesh prototype, USD, researched September 15, 2026. Linked catalog prices are budget anchors, not quotes. Custom parts, finishes and labor are explicitly estimated; no order has been placed.

Release gates still open

  1. Hardware & tolerance freeze. Controlled hinge/latch/foot CAD; lock the M16 engagement/adjustment stack, keeper geometry, door clearances and bracket holes. Approve actual bend radii and cosmetic samples.
  2. Structural design approval. Analyze rails, bridges, welded frame, eccentric foot mounts, stability and extracted equipment using the real loading/CG cases. A low average post stress does not prove the enclosure.
  3. Full-scale engineering mule. Inspect squareness, actual device rails and connector bends; evaluate side removal, positive retention, grounding continuity and door extraction clearance.
  4. Qualification. Agree mechanical, electrical-bonding, airflow, environmental and transport tests with an engineer/lab before publishing a rating. Keep the public explorer marked as development.

M1 mobility development

Explore's Casters option now shows four 100 mm twin-wheel assemblies, reinforced mounting plates and steel subframe rails, with separate polished leveling feet. Rolling raises the feet 30 mm clear of the floor; Parked lowers them until the wheels are 10 mm clear. Overall height is body height + 145 mm rolling or + 155 mm parked.

The target is 500 kg of equipment plus actual cabinet mass during controlled indoor rolling and stationary support. The wheels use an industrial reference envelope; brakes, forks, fasteners, levelers and connections are approximate development geometry. Supplier fit, corner reactions, floor-sheet interfaces, swivel/brake access, stability and physical testing remain open.

The P1 STEP and bill of materials above exclude this mobility assembly. No rolling or stationary rating is established.
